Ever got mad at your kid when they lose a easy match? Winning or Losing what is important is much more than that.
Hello everyone, I'll be very sincere, honest here. I have been in the sport for over 35 years, training, traveling, competing, winning and of course losing, a lot yes, but one thing I can say to you all, I don't regret a single tiny bit. I have learned a lot from playing & teaching this beautiful sport and here are few things to share:
Tennis taught me: Disappointment, Frustration, Bad Attitude, Anger, Hate, Insecurity, Jealousy, Arrogance, yes, lots of bad ones huh, but at the same time as you desperately try to fight all that, you also learn what life is all about: Discipline, Commitment, Determination, Hard-work, Positive Attitude, Emotional Control, Mental toughness, Conditioning, Fitness, Problem Solving, Confidence, Humble, Sportsmanship and above all, LOVE & RESPECT.
Those are just a few to name it and I will break it down and discuss them separately and some go together in future posts.
Anyways, my point is that when you and/or your kid(s) are playing tennis you are not just doing a healthy sport, getting in shape and active, competing for a trophy or points for rankings, getting college scholarships or tons of money turning big Pro player, but you will in the future take a lot more from it as I did, you are on the way of learning a lot from yourself by how you act and react to certain situation on the tennis court and off-court as well and that is what you carry on for life.
Even if you are not in the tennis business like myself still you can use all these learnings on your professional and/or personal life no matter what you do.
As you can see, I became a Tennis Pro Coach. All the knowledge and LOVE I have for this sport I try my best to pass it on to my students, which I hope not only make them a better player but also a better person.
I thank God to place me where I am today, my mom that literally dragged me to the tennis court when I was a little kid and in memory of my dad that always supported me.
I would love to hear from you all, share your stories, leave a comment. Let's make a better world through our tennis experiences sharing LOVE, RESPECT & PEACE!
