Are you not happy with your tennis game? You haven't seen any improvement lately? Have you found yourself questioning if you should change your kid's tennis coach? Are you thinking that you should put your son/daughter in another tennis training program as his/her opponents seem to be improving more than your kid?

Well, hello everyone, those are few questions parents and players ask about their tennis future. As a Tennis Coach myself, I will state few points to think about before going forward with any decision on coach/program change that applies to yourself or your kids:

Coach analysis:

Does the Tennis Coach love to teach?

Is he/she professional, respectful, reliable and on time?

Is the Coach experienced & knowledgeable about the game?

Does the Coach shows energy, intensity and excitement during lesson?

Does the Coach really care about you and your tennis game?

Is there a good connection between coach & student?

Is the Coach partial when it comes to other student's attention?

Does the Coach's personality appeals to you?

Do you have fun time during lesson?

Student analysis:

Do you love the game?

Are you open to learn and able to listen well?

Do you try your best in practice/Lesson/Match?

Do you remember and put in practice what your Coach tells you?

Do you need your Coach to push you otherwise you just won't do it?

Can you police yourself when Coach is not around? Using proper technique, foot-work, so on

How is your attitude when Coach ask for changes?

How is your attitude when things are not going well?

How is your attitude when practice is not so fun?

Do you only try your best when you play or practice with better players?

Do you hate when you have to practice with players below your level?

Answer those questions honestly and balance the results. Talk openly to your coach. Sometimes it is good idea to change coach or program but sometimes it is great idea to change yourself before and see how the results will be in the next few months.

Let me know how it goes and keep me posted of any ideas about this topic.

Respect!
